Lindy's Story
"Who are you?"
"I am fat."
"Is that all you are?"
These were the questions that changed my life.
Up until the age of 23 I was a slim young woman who had never given diets a second thought. Then while marketing a weight loss product, the idea of losing a little weight was sown.
After that I spent years yoyo dieting until I had made myself obese, frustrated and unhappy. My frustrations led me to seek answers on why I was unable to control this area of my life. My seeking for knowledge led me down a lot of different pathways and to a lot of different places.
And then during a workshop I attended, I was asked the questions that changed my life. Little by little I was able to see that I was much, much more than I had ever allowed myself to see and embrace.
It was with that and other simple exercises that I was able to change my internal dialogue.
The inner conflict that I always experienced about weight loss and exercise was gone. I still wanted to lose weight, which I did, but it was no longer the sole focus of my attention. Living my life healthily, with purpose and meaning had become all encompassing.
